President Bill Clinton's administration appears to have resumed efforts to form closer relations with Cuba on drug interdiction after backing away from the idea in June under an onslaught of anti-Castro attacks against any kind of cooperation with the island. During the past few years, the US accepted Cuban assistance on an informal, episodic basis.
